Diabetes Education Night at BMC

Join us for a fun night devoted to the prevention and management of diabetes.

Individuals with diabetes, their family members, and those who want to be proactive in preventing diabetes are invited to attend the 7th annual Diabetes Education Night on Thursday, November 14, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Burnett Medical Center. The event is free to attend and will feature presentations by experts in diabetes management, exhibitors with educational information and supplies, door prizes, giveaways, and refreshments.

The schedule for the evening is as follows:

5:00-5:30 pm - Participants will have the opportunity to visit the exhibitors, ask questions, and enjoy refreshments.

5:30 pm - "Understanding Continuous Glucose Monitoring"
Presentation by Medtronic.

6:15 pm - "Panel Discussion: Learn from the Experts Themselves."
Individuals with diabetes will share their stories and lessons learned in managing diabetes, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Those with diabetes are encouraged to attend the event to learn how to better manage diabetes and control blood sugar levels. People who have not been diagnosed but may be at risk of developing diabetes are also encouraged to attend to learn about preventing or delaying the onset of diabetes. Factors that increase the risk of getting diabetes include being 45 years of age or older, having a family member with diabetes, having high glucose levels and blood pressure, having abnormal cholesterol levels, being overweight or obese, and being fairly inactive.
